Last year was incredibly eventful for the Emmett Till Interpretive Center.
We purchased the barn where Emmett Till was lynched to develop into a memorial site.
We held our largest commemoration event across three days in honor of the 70th anniversary of Emmett's murder and Mamie's decision to show what hatred had done.
We engaged audiences across Mississippi in the Till story through our "Remembering Emmett" panel series.
We staffed the Till National Monument on behalf of the National Park Service, greeting visitors and providing tours of the Tallahatchie County Courthouse.
All that we accomplished, along with so much more, was possible thanks to your support. As Executive Director Patrick Weems wrote in his letter opening our annual report, “Your generosity makes these moments possible, not just once, but repeatedly.”
As we look ahead to stewarding the barn and embarking on a new phase of our work, we are deeply grateful for your belief in and support for our mission. Remembering is a communal act. By working together, we can preserve this history and learn from it to build a better future.
Thank you for being an essential part of this work. See our full 2025 partner impact report here.
