Honoring the 79th Birthday of Emmett Till
​
In honor of what should have been Emmett Till's 79th birthday, poet Patricia Smith performed work from her collection Incendiary Art, which forges incisive connections between the murder of Emmett Till and the Black Lives Matter movement. Following the reading, Dr. Derrick Harriell from the University of Mississippi led a conversation with Ms. Smith about her work and the ways Emmett Till's legacy still resonates.
