RACIAL RECONCILIATION BEGINS BY TELLING THE TRUTH
Mississippi Delta Film Academy
Emmett Till Interpretive Center’s Mississippi Delta Film Academy is a two-week program led by Dr. Davis Houck and Dr. Pablo Correa for highly motivated high school students from the Mississippi Delta. The Film Academy empowers these students to shoot, produce, and edit their own high-quality documentary film. The Film Academy provides a safe space for high school students to explore their creativity during the summer with meals provided by the Till Center and provides them with a stipend to acknowledge their hard work. Our filmmakers examine the Civil Rights Movement, brainstorm ideas for their project, conduct interviews with Civil Rights Icons, and learn from industry professionals.
